What a Sunday run! I accidentally ran the furthest I’ve ever run in my life… 14 miles. With the Blackmore Vale Half Marathon upcoming on February 2nd I knew I needed to get some long runs in. Man cannot run half marathons on Parkrun alone!

Today was Parkrun day – 575 runners! It’s the strangest thing – 8:30am there’s not a person there then by 8:55am a swarm of runners amasses near the cricket pavilion in the park.

A good warm up is a MUST for speed sessions so I stretched and ran three very slow laps with some dynamic stretches thrown in (leaps, mini-sprints, arm windmills). We were split in to two groups 1 & 2 (faster pace and slower pace) and were told by the coach what that evening’s session would entail: 400m, 800m, 400m, 800m, 400m, 800m, 400m, 800m and 400m = a total of 5200 metres, so basically 5k.
